David Southey - Account Manager

The Beginning

My career in IT dates back to 1979 when I took on a variety of roles, including working as an IT Helpdesk Assistant, Network Support Analyst and PC Support Manager for an insurance company known back then as ITT L&E. I then moved from the insurance to the IT software and service industry in 2000 when I joined the technology performance company, Compuware as a Transition Manager, working on assignment at one of its clients in the Manufacturing industry. After spending 9 years at Compuware, I joined Stage in 2009 as an Account Manager.

My Work at Stage

I am responsible for the management of the sales and the relationship between Stage and one of its key customers in the Manufacturing industry. My primary objective is to maintain our existing relationship with this particular customer and work with them to identify their needs and how we can best meet those requirements, so that they will continue using our services. I am also involved in the identifying of potential new customers and business opportunities and persuading new customers to place business with the company.

Life at Stage

The majority of my time is spent at the sites of the customer account that I manage but the inter-departmental support and commitment from colleagues I work in tandem with is second to none, which makes my job so much easier. There is a willingness from everyone to go beyond their remit to help others in their work and there is fantastic blend of years of professional experience, talented graduates and cultural diversity amongst the staff.

The Future

Managing our largest account and being responsible for over 100 of our consultants has been a steep learning curve for me since I joined in 2009. I look forward to my ever expanding role of being involved in the continued development of our services in new and existing markets and the challenge of managing and growing a portfolio of accounts from the ground up.
